HARRINGTON DRIVE KITCHEN
When designing her own kitchen in her newly purchased home, Rachel Clark needed to strike the perfect balance between timeless classicism and a subtle, modern edge.
Because the end of the island is visible the moment you walk through the front door, it demanded a standout detail… enter the custom brass legs, an instant focal point that feels both sculptural and sophisticated.
Rachel embraced a warm, beautifully veined marble throughout the space, allowing its natural character etches (marks included!) to bring authenticity and lived-in elegance.
Rachel is a big fan of including a thoughtful mix of metals and it fabulously completes the look. Mixing metals add depth and quiet sophistication to a kitchen design and makes it feel effortlessly elevated.
For the windows, café curtains offered the ideal solution: they allow natural light to pour in while providing functional privacy and a charming traditional nod. In contrast, the Roman shades became an opportunity for subtle pattern through a sheer chevron layered with neutral drapery.
The bar area continues the theme of playful and timeless. Adding the timeless marble countertop and backsplash with pops of color and interesting bits from Rachel’s travels and things she’s collected over the years, gives the space the perfect blend of charm and style.
Lighting played a crucial role, especially in the adjoining dining area, where fixtures needed to feel warm, inviting, and a touch playful without straying from that classic esthetic. Both spaces are blended seamlessly together with the help of Rachel’s thoughtful design touches.
